Arkadi Anniversary 2026 – Traditional Costumes of Crete
On November 8, 2026, Crete celebrated the anniversary of the historic Arkadi events of 1866.
I spent the day in Rethymno, photographing people wearing beautiful traditional Cretan costumes during the commemorative parade. I focused mainly on individual portraits, capturing the details of their outfits, expressions, and the spirit of Cretan culture.
Later, I visited Arkadi Monastery, where I also had the opportunity to photograph the President of Greece, Konstantinos Tasoulas, during the official ceremony.
