One of the most meaningful moments a photographer can document is a baptism — a celebration of faith, family, and a new beginning. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing the baptism of Aiandas in beautiful Crete, Greece.
The ceremony took place at the historic Prophet Elias Church near Chania, a location known for its peaceful atmosphere and remarkable views. Set on a hill above the city, the church offers a stunning backdrop that makes every moment feel even more memorable.
The baptism was filled with emotion and tradition. From the blessing of the water to the child’s immersion and the family’s joyful gathering, every part of the ceremony reflected the beauty of Greek Orthodox heritage.
For a photographer, days like this are about much more than taking pictures. They are about preserving genuine emotions — the proud smiles of the parents and godparents, the tenderness of family embraces, and the quiet, sacred details that make the day unforgettable.
It was an honor to capture these memories for Aiandas and his family. Moments like these become part of a family’s story, remembered and cherished for generations.
